Flashing speed signs for Combe Martin and Bratton Fleming

Traffic speeding through Bratton Fleming and Combe Martin has been a particular concern to residents for some time, so Transform and Devon County Council worked together to buy and install “slow down” signs for the two villages.

In Bratton Fleming two fixed signs have been installed on the main road through the village that will send a warning about crossing pedestrians and children to motorists travelling at over 30 miles per hour. The Neighbourhood Management Programme provided over half of the cost, and Devon County Council provided the rest and installed the sign.

Combe Martin has a number of traffic hot-spots, so it will be getting a mobile “slow down” sign that can be moved according to local need. The Parish Council will be working with Devon County Council to decide where the “plug-in points” will be, and will then be in charge of the sign.
